Handwriting is a means of conveying language, just like language, and it also leaves a permanent trace. Some call it ´Language by Hand´. It is a physical way of expressing views and ideas and a means of communicating with others.

Time dedicated to the teaching and learning of letter creation in the early years will pay off. Readable writing that can be produced securely, at speed and with little sensible effort allows a child to attend to the higher-level aspects of writing configuration and content. This is important when valuations are based on written work, particularly in time-limited written investigations, which remain as a major form of assessment for many formal educations. Without fast and readable handwriting, students may miss out on learning prospects and under-achieve academically.
