About Handwriting "Good Handwriting is a sign of Healthy Mind,Bad Handwriting is a sing of Imperfect Education" Mahatma Gandhi

We talk about reading, we talk about math, but no one talks about handwriting,"Dinehart said. "It´s not even a subject area in many classrooms anymore. We don´t ask kids to spend time on their handwriting, when in fact, the research is clear that kids who have greater ease in writing have better academic skills in 2nd grade in both reading and math."

"People should take a second look at how important handwriting might actually be," she said."And public schools should rethink how much they focus on handwriting in the classroom and how those skills can really improve reading and math."

What is handwriting? Our handwriting is very special, a part of our self-image and an expression of our character, just as the way we dress up and present ourselves is, We all are curious on how our handwriting looks to others and would sometimes like that image to be different! Handwriting is a means of conveying language, just like language, and it also leaves a permanent trace. Some call it ´Language by Hand´. It is a physical way of expressing views and ideas and a means of communicating with others.

Why is Handwriting Important? Scrawl down a shopping list, writing a birthday card, taking down a phone message, finishing a form at the bank.handwriting is part of our day-to-day lives. It is an expression to others and may be used to make decisions about us.

Time dedicated to the teaching and learning of letter creation in the early years will pay off. Readable writing that can be produced securely, at speed and with little sensible effort allows a child to attend to the higher-level aspects of writing configuration and content. This is important when valuations are based on written work, particularly in time-limited written investigations, which remain as a major form of assessment for many formal educations. Without fast and readable handwriting, students may miss out on learning prospects and under-achieve academically.
